Dental care for patients with special needs requires additional training. At our office, we have the experience necessary to provide excellent dental care while keeping in mind the unique nature of each child. Sometimes special accomodations or treatment measures are needed.
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry defines special healthcare needs as “any physical, developmental, mental, sensory, behavioral, cognitive, or emotional impairment or limiting condition that requires medical management, healthcare intervention, and/or use of specialized services or programs.” Whether your child’s condition is congenital, developmental, or the result of disease or trauma, we will provide guidance for their dental needs.
We reserve specific appointment times for our patients with special needs when the office and staff are best equipped to care for them in the manner they require. If you have any questions about your specific child and their special needs please contact us at (336) 292-0411.
